The World Health Organisation (WHO) reported continuing transmission of yellow fever in Nigeria up to 19 January 2018.
A total of 367 suspected cases (including 45 deaths) have been reported from sixteen states: Abia, Anambra,
Borno, Edo, Enugu, Kano, Katsina, Kebbi, Kogi, Kwara, Lagos, Nasarawa, Niger, Oyo, Plateau, and Zamfara. Thirty-three cases from seven states (Kano, Kebbi, Kogi, Kwara, Nasarawa, Niger, and Zamfara) have been laboratory-confirmed.
There is a risk of yellow fever in Nigeria. Vaccination is advised for travellers (unless contraindicated).
Country requirement at entry (WHO): a yellow fever vaccination certificate is required for travellers over 1 year of age arriving from countries with risk of yellow fever transmission.
